Hartlepool-based land management consultancy, Cecil M Yuill Ltd, is supporting one of the North East region’s oldest rugby clubs with a three year sponsorship deal.
Edward Yuill, Managing Director, and grandson of Cecil M Yuill, commented, “I’d played for Novos since moving to Newcastle and was always impressed at how friendly the club was to strangers and the great work they did coaching youngsters and bringing them on into the senior sides – it’s a true community club which welcomes players and supporters from sections of the community.”
“I’d given up playing a few years ago but was approached to help with some of their projects and sponsored their Veterans side last season. The contacts and goodwill we made more than paid for the money we’d invested and so I’m delighted to be a main club sponsor for the coming 2017-2018 season.”
Formed in 1899, Novos RFC is one of the region’s oldest clubs, with the 1st team now playing in Durham & Northumberland Division One. The club hosts four senior men’s sides, including a Veterans XV who regularly tour in overseas tournaments, two Ladies sides and junior team at every level form U6 to U18. Based at Sutherland Park in Benton, the club successfully attracted grants of over £300,000 for pitch improvement to provide some of the finest floodlit pitches in the region.
